Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

I am Back Again ...

Hi Everybody,

It has now been a pretty long while since I was here last - around 3 years.

So many things have happened to me - but I am still alive !

First of all I got divorced and moved back to Denmark from Florida.
I could not bring all my stuff - only what I could have in 2 suitcases -
so coming home to Denmark was starting over on everything .
Things went well - I am not complaining.

But then the doctors found out I had insufficient heart -
it was only working 25% of normal peoples hearts.
I got medicated and got into a training program - and
now I am doing much better.

I have missed you all - but up untill now I did not feel I had the
energy to start again. First of all it took me a long time to get
hold of Photoshop again - but finally I got it.
I might be able to get to my files in my external hard-drive -
but the last couple of weeks I have tried to get my
resources together by simply sitting making everything again.
And still I do not have all the stuff I had before.
But with some more work I do hope I can soon present a new
photomanip.

Hugsss to all my old friends here on DA - so very happy to be back again

First of all, I'm delighted to see you back!

Checked on your page when returning to the site in mid October, after 6 years away...and you were gone.

Mine is a very long complex story, and I'm not as active on the site as before, just coming and going. We have a lot to catch up with.
But your story really shocked me...after all the efforts you made and everything you had to go through!!! Health always is a sidekick from these traumatic events. I'll be brief for now.

Hey Cheri,

Yes .. and I also got rid of my gallbladder forgot
all about that - even it took them 1½ year to find
out that it was the culpritt of all my pains.
So it has not really been possible for me to be
back much sooner than now.

I am also very happy to be back - to see you and
other good friends again is a blast !
I had never expected that you all would remember
me at all .. !

I think I must say yes to your offer of giving me
some links to wonderful stock sites. I do feel
like a newbie - a bit lost in the jungle lol

That is also something I really miss is my great
big fat library of good stock - both what I had
collected through out the years here on DA plus
what I had made my self in digital painting.
As it looks right now - I have lost everything.
There is a slight chance my brother can fix my
external hard-drive - but we do not know yet.

I have already digital painted a few items -
but there is a long way before I have the same
resources I had 3 years ago.
